Have you ever felt lost?
Have you ever felt alone?
I know I have.
I’ve spent countless hours questioning myself, my purpose, my life. Caught in an insatiable search for answers – devouring books, podcasts, blogs, and everything else in sight.
Constantly seeking the wisdom of others.
When does it end?
We get so caught in everyone else’s opinions and ideas that we lose track of our own. As a result, we become a walking, talking replica of all the people we read, listen to and watch.
At some point, we need to ask ourselves:
- Who am I?
- Why am I here?
- What do I think?
We need to realize there will be a never ending flow of questions. Then, we need to be okay with it.
“Do not follow in the footsteps of the Ancients; seek what they sought” -Kūkai, 8th Century Japanese Buddhist Monk
This quote made me rethink my search for answers from these authors, experts, and leaders. More importantly, it made me realize these experts were just people asking the same questions we all ask.
- What if I look at these experts as guides?
- What if I look at their words as advice?
- What if I enjoy the experience of trying to solve the question?
That’s how I decided upon Guides to Greatness.
Every week, I’ll share thoughts from the best authors, experts and thought-leaders to help guide you along your journey as you carve your own path in the world.
Enjoy the journey.
